Abdurrahim El-Keib, the Prime Minister of Libya visits The Islamic Cultural Centre.

The Islamic Cultural Centre receives high profile dignitaries continuously since its foundation. The most recent being the Prime Minister of Libya, on Friday Abdurrahim El-Keib, the Prime Minister of Libya was received by the Director General Dr. Ahmad Al Dubayan. A reception was held with members of ICC staff and figures of the Muslim Community.

Dr. Dubayan welcomed the Prime Minister and delivered a speech saying it was an honour for the visit and explained the historic background to the establishment of the London Central Mosque and The Islamic Cultural Centre and also spoke of the Services offered to the community such as the newly launched Education Unit, Islamic Study Courses, Library and Social Services which also include Matrimonial Services.

Dr Dubayan also spoke about how the Islamic Cultural Centre is concentrating on the management of the centre to serve main stream Islam in the UK and to serve all Muslim Communities representing the message of Islam for all people regardless of creed or race, serving the wider society and having good positive relations with non-Muslims and society as a whole.

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude and conveyed his greetings to the Trustees and to the Chairman of the Board His Excellency Mr. Khalid Rashid Al-Hamoudi Al-Mansouri.

He said that he was glad to visit the Islamic Cultural Centre and commented that the centre was doing great work much needed by the Muslim community not only as a place of worship but as a focal point for the community with all its services. The Prime Minister was also very happy to see so many faces from all over the world and greatly appreciated the good relations between the Centre and the Libyan Community.

The Director Generral presented the Prime Minister with some publications of the Islamic Cultural Centre and also with a golden copy of the Quran.

Although The ICC does not get involved in politics, its trustees are the ambassadors of different Muslims countries. This make the ICC an international stop for all countries representatives visiting UK.
