Preass Release

Demonstrations which are held outside The London Central Mosque

Thursday 2nd April 2015

Organisations or individuals who hold demonstrations outside the London Central Mosque on Friday 3rd April 2015 at 1.30pm.

This Demonstration (and all those held in the past) has in no way any link or relation to the views or the mission statement of the London Central Mosque Trust as sometimes incorrectly perceived by the press, media and general public.

The demonstration is being held on the public footpath, not in the Mosque.

Any Organisation which chooses to stand directly outside the Mosque can inadvertently portray a misguided perception to the public that they are somehow linked to the Mosque which they are not and never have been.

We have asked the authorities not to allow such demonstrations to take place specially so close to the Mosque for a number of reasons including the disruption to prayers by the noise and the congestion it causes from thousands of peaceful worshippers (families and children) leaving the Mosque after prayer. It also disrupts the local pedestrian flow and the traffic on the road on what is probably one of the busiest Fridays prayers of the year due to it being a bank holiday.

We would like to thank the Police for all their support and ask all our worshippers who attend this Friday prayer to leave peacefully and quickly after praying and wish everyone a very peaceful bank holiday weekend.
