Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers (Djamaa El-Djazaïr), Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Mamoune El-Kacimi El-Hassani visits London Central Mosque to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

London Central Mosque welcomed a distinguished delegation from Algeria on Monday, 15 June 2026, with chief guest, the Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers (Djamaa El-Djazair),
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Mamoune El-Kacimi El-Hassani, and the Algerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom,
His Excellency Mr Nourredine Yazid.
The event was attended by a gathering of Muslim community leaders and representatives, reflecting the strong spirit of international cooperation and dialogue within the global Muslim community.
During the event, Dr Dubayan, Director General of London Central Mosque, thanked all guests for their attendance and warmly welcomed the strengthening of ties between the two institutions. A significant highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between The Islamic Cultural Centre London, and the Grand Mosque of Algiers, marking the beginning of enhanced collaboration.
The gathering was also attended by Lord Qurban Hussain,along with representatives from the
Kuwait Embassy Mr M Awadi and from the
Malaysian Embassy Mr Mohiuddin were also at the event.
The visit concluded with expressions of goodwill and a shared commitment to developing closer relations between the two centres for the benefit of their communities and future generations.
