ICC Receive Mr. Lewis Lukens Charge'd Affairs of The Embassy of The United States of America

The Islamic Cultural Centre Hosted Mr. Lewis Lukens Charge'd Affairs of The Embassy of The United States of America for a good will tour of the Centre. Mr. Lukens was received by the Director General Dr. Ahmad Al Dubayan who welcomed Mr. Lukens on behalf of the Trustees of The Islamic Cultural Centre.
During his Visit Mr. Lukens was showcased the various activities and work of the Centre by Head of Public Relations Mr. Ayaz Zuberi. Mr. Zuberi informed Mr. Lukens about the History of the Centre and how the Centre has been at the heart of the Muslim Community in Britain since the mid 1940's. Mr. Lukens was also introduced to the departmental units of the Centre where each unit informed The Acting Ambassador of their work within the community. This included the Books distribution where Mr. Lukens was informed that the Centre distributes the Holy Quran and other publications in over 30 languages all across Britain. The Education Unit informed Mr. Lukens of the many educational courses and classes they have which include a weekend supplementary school with over 400 Students.
Mr. Lukens thanked Dr. Al Dubayan and his team for the warm hospitality and was very happy to hear about the sheer volume of work the Centre is involved in. Mr. Lukens was then presented with copies of the latest publications of the Centre as a token of appreciation for his visit.
