Standing Together in Unity - Responding to the Terror Attack in New Zealand

After waking up to news of the tragic events in New Zealand this morning The Islamic Cultural Centre arranged a gathering of community and faith leaders to reflect, offer condolences and prayers for those who lost their lives and to pray for the recovery of all those who have been injured in the terror attack.
Amongst those who attended included the Secretary of State for Housing and Communities Rt Hon James Brokenshire. Local Member of Parliament Karen Buck MP and members of the Church and Christian Muslim Forum. to name a few.
Dr Ahmad Al Dubayan, Director General said "It is paramount that we stand together to reassure our communities, our thoughts are with the victims and their families".
Rt Hon James Brokenshire said "It is very important that I attended the vigil at The Islamic Cultural Centre to show solidarity with the people of New Zealand after such an horrific attack of terrorism and to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Muslim brothers and sisters in this country"
Karen Buck MP said "On the aftermath of the appalling act of terrorism in New Zealand I’ve come to The Islamic Cultural Centre to show solidarity with our Muslim community at the end of Friday prayers."
A minutes silence was ovserved by everoyone and the friday sermon denounced the terror attack as a crime against humanity.
