Sh Dr. Faid Said attends 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt
Sh Dr Faid Mohammed Said Imam and secretary general ICCUK participated in the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt upon the invitation of Professor Usama Alazhary, Minister of Awqaf and President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
This year's conference titled (The Role of Women in Building Awareness)".. The conference, attended by over 200 scholars from more than 60 countries, was an important opportunity to discuss the contemporary challenges faced by Muslims.
The participation was covered by national TV channels and quoted in leading print media. Dr Faid concentrated on 3 important concepts;
(i) The Messenger of Allah , (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), said: "Women are the twin brothers of men"This hadith makes it clear that women are partners in building, and this is clearly evident in the role of Khadija (May Allah br pleased with her), as she was the first to believe and support, and she consoled the Messenger of God with her money and everything she possessed. Allah the Almighty blessed and rewarded her by sending the angel Gabriel to give her salam and tell her place in Paradise.
(ii) The Quran speaks clearly about the Rights and responsibilities of both male and females. Allah the most high said: " And whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true believer in the Oneness of Allah (Muslim), such will enter Paradise and not the least injustice, even to the size of a Naqira (speck on the back of a date-stone), will be done to them." 4:124
(iii) One of the last commandments of the Messenger of Allah , (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), was to treat women With absolute respect and kindness. He also warned against mistreatment of women and said that only the the noble and honourable man should honor woman .
She Dr Faid thanks the Minister of Awqaf for his invitation, and the Republic of Egypt, its leadership and its people for their generousity and hospitality.
During the visit also visited the Grand Mufti of Egypt Professor Nazir Ayyad congratulated him and he conveyed the congratulations of the director general of London Central Mosque and best wishes.
